Ban on smartphones in Afghanistan
Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada has banned smartphones for members of the group and government officials.

Afghanistan International reports this, citing internal documents.

The document states that offenders will face military court proceedings. The order has already been sent to the courts and security forces.

The use of smartphones has been restricted in the country for some time. The Taliban Minister of Higher Education has called them “one of the three main enemies of Muslims” and banned their use in schools and universities.
