G7 ambassadors welcomed Zelensky's support for an independent investigation of the corruption scandal
G7 ambassadors highly appreciated President Volodymyr Zelensky's support for the independent investigation by NABU and SAPO into the corruption scandal in the energy sector.
This was reported by the G7 group of ambassadors in Ukraine, according to "European Truth".
They expressed hope for Zelensky's continued leadership in anti-corruption reforms, which is key for Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration.
"We welcome President Zelensky's willingness to cooperate and support the independent investigation by NABU/SAPO. We count on his further leadership in anti-corruption reforms, which are crucial for Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration. Amid ongoing Russian attacks, we continue to support Ukraine's energy resilience," – the statement reads.
Earlier it was reported that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine published an investigation into a large corruption scheme at NNEGC "Energoatom" called "Midas".
The scheme was organized by businessman and co-owner of "Kvartal 95" Timur Mindich. The prosecution stated that Mindich exerted influence on former Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko and former Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.
