Air defence forces destroyed 157 enemy drones during a night attack by the Russian Federation

Russia attacked Ukraine with a ballistic missile and 171 drones, with hits recorded at eight locations.

On the night of 2 February, Ukraine's air defence forces destroyed 157 enemy drones during a massive Russian air attack. This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the military, the attack lasted from 6 p.m. on 1 February. The Russian army used an Iskander-M ballistic missile launched from the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea, as well as 171 strike unmanned aerial vehicles. Among them were Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones, about 100 of which were Shahed drones.

The launches were carried out from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo (Russian Federation), as well as from the temporarily occupied Donetsk.

The Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.

As of 09:00, air defence forces had shot down or suppressed 157 enemy UAVs in the north, south and east of the country.

At the same time, a ballistic missile and 12 strike drones were recorded hitting eight locations. The Air Force noted that the attack is ongoing, with some enemy drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace, and called on citizens to follow safety rules.
