A conflict in the changing room of the capital's skating rink escalated into a fight, causing panic among visitors and ending in criminal suspicion.

In Kyiv, law enforcement officers reported suspicion of a 27-year-old resident of the capital who started a fight at the ice rink located on the territory of the VDNG. The incident occurred in the changing room of the facility and frightened other visitors, including women with young children.

According to the police, a call was made to the 102 hotline about a conflict between visitors to the ice rink. An investigative team from the Holosiivskyi Police Department quickly arrived at the scene.

According to preliminary data, one of the visitors sat down on a bench in the changing room with his girlfriend and placed his backpack next to him. A group of men approached them, and one of them, trying to make room for himself, began to rudely move other people's belongings. When the 26-year-old Kyiv resident made a remark, the stranger reacted aggressively and punched him in the face.

The aggressive actions caused panic among those present in the room, including women with young children. After the altercation, the attacker left the rink.

Operatives, together with criminal analysts, quickly identified the offender and tracked him down. He turned out to be a 27-year-old Kyiv resident.

Under the procedural guidance of the Holosiivskyi District Prosecutor's Office, investigators informed the man that he was suspected of committing an offence under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism, i.e. a gross violation of public order motivated by blatant disrespect for society, accompanied by particular audacity.

The investigation is ongoing.
