Law enforcement officers stopped the activities of the group, which sold hundreds of doses of drugs over several months and tried to expand the network to other regions.

In Donetsk region, SBU officers with the assistance of the State Bureau of Investigations exposed an interregional drug trafficking channel covering Donetsk and Kyiv regions. The offenders tried to involve servicemen in the circle of potential buyers.

According to the investigation, the scheme was organised by two men previously convicted of drug-related crimes from Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk district, and Irpin, Kyiv region. They met while serving their sentences and decided to resume criminal activity after their release.

One of the defendants grew hemp and produced drugs in Donetsk region on his own. The other, being in Kyiv region, sent empty tubes of construction acrylic by post and received them filled with drugs in return. Each of the suspects sold the drugs on their own territory through personal transfers. The proceeds were distributed via bank cards. Investigators found that the group was preparing to expand its activities to Dnipro region.

During the searches, law enforcement officers seized drugs, mobile phones, bank cards, cash, drug injecting devices, other material evidence, and ammunition. According to preliminary estimates, in just two months, the suspects sold about 300 doses with a total weight of approximately 3 kilograms and were actively increasing their volumes.

One of the defendants is charged with the illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage and sale of drugs, committed repeatedly, as well as illegal handling of explosives. The other was served a notice of suspicion of illegal acquisition, storage and sale of drugs, committed repeatedly by a group of persons. The sanctions of the articles provide for up to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. A custody with the right to be released on bail was chosen as a measure of restraint for both men.
