Firewood in Ukraine
Українці влаштували справжній бум на ринку альтернативного палива та скупили майже 1,1 млн куб. м дров лише за перші місяці року. Це вдвічі більше, ніж за аналогічний період минулого року, коли люди придбали всього 534 тис. куб. м.

This was reported by the state-owned enterprise ‘Forests of Ukraine’.

Foresters ship out 225,000 cubic metres of timber every month.

Despite such frenzied demand, there is no need to panic about a shortage, as around 200,000 cubic metres of timber have already been stockpiled.

By the end of 2026, foresters plan to harvest a further 2 million cubic metres for household needs. The government promises to freeze tariffs for the public until spring 2027, provided that fuel or delivery prices do not rise on the market.

The final price of fuel traditionally depends on the wood’s heat output. The most expensive will be hardwoods from the first group, which burn the longest – 1,400 UAH per cubic metre including VAT. For pine or alder from the second group, you will have to pay 1,100 UAH per cubic metre.
