On September 23, "Energoatom" announced the tenth blackout at the Zaporizhzhia NPP – the last power transmission line, through which it received power from the Ukrainian energy system, was disconnected.

This was reported by ThePublic.info citing Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk.

The station's power supply was restored thanks to the completion of repairs to the 750 kV "Dniprovskaya" line. Currently, work is ongoing on the 330 kV "Feroslavljna" line.

"This allowed the station to be taken out of the full mode – the tenth blackout – in which it had been for the past month," - noted Hrynchuk.

According to the minister, during this entire time, the safety of Europe's largest nuclear power plant was maintained solely through the operation of emergency diesel generators.

"This created an unprecedented threat to nuclear and radiation safety not only for Ukraine but for the entire European continent," - stated Hrynchuk.

She also explained that the cause of the month-long blackout was the actions of Russian occupying forces, who systematically shell and damage power lines connecting ZNPP with Ukraine's unified energy system.
