The Ukrainian military carried out a strike on the Russian military airfield ‘Khalino’ in the Kursk region, resulting in the destruction of a MiG-29 fighter jet and a ‘Pantsir-S1’ anti-aircraft missile and gun system.

This has been reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, the operation was carried out by servicemen of the 15th Separate Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade ‘Black Forest’. Ukrainian forces struck a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet, which was situated directly at the airfield, as well as a “Pantsir-S1” anti-aircraft missile and gun system.

The command did not disclose details of the weapons used, but released a video showing the results of the strike and briefly commented on the operation with the words: “To be continued.” Recently, the Ukrainian Defence Forces have been regularly attacking Russian military airfields.

In particular, a series of strikes was previously carried out against the “Saki” airbase in the temporarily occupied Crimea, where hangars housing combat aircraft were hit and a Russian Su-24M bomber was destroyed.
