Galushchenko and Hrynchuk dismissed from ministerial positions
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted to dismiss two officials related to the energy sector — against the backdrop of a large-scale anti-corruption operation by NABU and dozens of searches as part of the case concerning the activities of "Energoatom".
The deputies supported the dismissal of Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynychuk. 315 parliamentarians voted in favor of the decision. Her resignation was the result of a high-profile investigation during which law enforcement officials established the existence of a "kickback" system of 10–15% for the opportunity to work with a state company.
The parliament also dismissed Minister of Justice Herman Halushchenko, who previously headed the Ministry of Energy. 323 deputies voted for his resignation.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the leadership bodies of key energy enterprises require a complete reboot to ensure transparency in their work and to increase public trust in government management in the strategic sector.
