The General Staff: Ukrainian Armed Forces strike key Russian chemical plant — Nevinnomyssk Azot in Stavropol Krai
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed: during the night of December 4, Ukrainian forces struck one of Russia's largest chemical plants — "Nevinnomyssk Azot," located in the Stavropol Krai. The facility produces ammonia and ammonium nitrate — components for manufacturing explosives and ammunition.
According to the General Staff, the strike hit one of the production workshops, after which a fire broke out on the plant's territory. Such actions aim to reduce Russia's ability to produce ammunition and to limit its military-industrial potential.
"Nevinnomyssk Azot" is a strategic enterprise that annually produces over a million tons of ammonia and up to 1.4 million tons of ammonium nitrate. These volumes make the plant one of the key suppliers of components for explosive substances and ammunition for the Russian military complex.
It is clarified that the strike on the chemical plant is part of the systematic actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to weaken the logistics and industrial support of the enemy. Simultaneously, the General Staff confirms the conduct of operations targeting other objectives to reduce Russia's ability to carry out aggressive actions.
Local sources in Russia reported explosions and a fire, sometimes hearing air defense work, and observing drones over the region.
This strike is another example of how Ukraine, through targeted operations against military-industrial complex targets, is trying to reduce the Russian army's ability to produce ammunition and conduct a large-scale war.
