Iran has reported a US missile strike on an unfinished nuclear power station
Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported a US missile strike on the unfinished Darhovin nuclear power station and threatened to take measures to protect its national interests, according to CNN.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Garibabadi, stated that the United States had carried out a missile strike on the unfinished Darhovin nuclear power station in the south of the country.
According to the diplomat, the strike on the unfinished nuclear power station constituted a “dangerous attack on Iran’s peaceful infrastructure”, for which, he claimed, the US bears full responsibility for the consequences of the escalating instability.
Garibabadi also stated that Iran “strongly condemns this act of aggression”. He emphasised that the country “will take the necessary steps to protect its national interests and security”.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that the United States had achieved the main objectives of the operation against Iran, but would continue and even intensify the strikes in the coming days to force Tehran to return to the negotiating table.
