Kaja Kallas calls on Russia to withdraw its troops from Ukraine
The head of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, during the OSCE meeting, addressed the Kremlin with a categorical call: immediately withdraw troops from Ukraine and return to diplomatic settlement. In her speech, Kallas emphasized that only the restoration of Kyiv's sovereignty can serve as the foundation for stable peace in the region.
This statement is part of Europe's new pressure on Moscow. According to the publication "European Truth," amid the ongoing war, the EU is developing a comprehensive sanctions package against the Russian elite and structures involved in the aggression. Judging by the information, key sectors—ranging from energy to finance—may be targeted.
According to the plan, the new restrictions should impact not only the Russian economy but also complicate the implementation of any international schemes through which the Kremlin attempts to bypass existing sanctions. At the same time, the EU insists that any negotiations are only possible after the complete withdrawal of Russian troops and confirmation of a refusal to further aggression.
In Brussels and the capitals of EU member states, there is a growing opinion that the new sanctions package could become a decisive factor in forcing Russia to compromise. If the plan is approved, it will be one of the largest anti-Russian initiatives since the start of the full-scale invasion.
