Kupyansk after Russian strikes: the city turned from peaceful life to ruins
Kupyansk after the Russian strikes
Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region is undergoing systematic shelling by the Russian Federation. The city's residential areas and infrastructure are being destroyed, and the defence is being held by the soldiers of the 116th Separate Mechanised Brigade.

Kupyansk, which until recently lived a normal life with working shops, hospitals and schools, now looks like a scorched field. Large-scale destruction of residential buildings and civilian infrastructure has been recorded in the city. According to the North Operational Command, the attacks have signs of systemic terror, with not only positions on the contact line but also peaceful streets being targeted, according to a post on Facebook.

The post emphasises that shelling of residential areas and strikes on critical facilities are not considered random incidents, but a method of putting pressure on the population. The released footage shows the destroyed neighbourhoods of Kup’yansk, next to which the Ukrainian military are working

The city is being defended by the fighters of the 116th separate mechanised brigade. The text also calls for people not to get used to war and to support the Defence Forces, as the destruction of Kupyansk demonstrates that civilian objects remain at direct risk
