Ukraine will be the first among all client countries to receive the advanced SAMP/T air defense system.

Ukraine will be the first among all customer countries to receive the promising SAMP/T air defense system, which is still under development. This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron during a joint briefing with the President of Ukraine.

"We have initiated a bilateral cooperation, planned for the next 10 years, regarding the procurement, development, and production of drones, drone interceptors, and guided bombs. These are supplies we plan to deliver over a two-year period and for the next 10 years," - Macron stated.

According to him, the new generation of the SAMP/T air defense system is still in development, but France has agreed that it could be the first to be deployed in Ukraine.

"Ukraine already knows the characteristics of this system, but now it will have enhanced new features," - added the French president.

He also noted that under the terms of the agreement, Ukraine will be able to purchase 100 fully armed aircraft with corresponding training programs for maintenance crews and pilots.

Recall that on November 17, Ukraine and France signed a declaration of intent regarding cooperation in the field of acquiring military equipment. The document mentions aircraft, drones, and air defense systems.

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the document provides Ukraine with the opportunity to purchase military equipment from the French defense industrial and technological base, including 100 Rafale F4 aircraft by 2035 for Ukraine's combat aviation, SAMP/T air defense systems, radars for air defense systems, "air-to-air" missiles, and aerial bombs.
