The large-scale attack on 2 May 2026: results of the air defence operations

On the night of 2 May 2026, the enemy launched a large-scale attack on Ukrainian territory, deploying 163 strike drones of various types. Air defence forces managed to destroy 142 enemy targets

This has been reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Details of the attack

The air strike began at 18:00 on 1 May. The enemy launched around 100 ‘Shahed’ drones, as well as ‘Gerbera’ and ‘Italmas’ drones and jet-powered UAVs. The launches were carried out from Russian territory (Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk) and occupied Crimea (Gvardeyskoye, Chauda).

Results of the repulsion

As of 08:00, anti-aircraft missile forces, aviation and mobile fire groups report the following:

  • Shot down/neutralised: 142 UAVs in the north, south and east of the country.

  • Hits: 17 attack drones at 12 locations.

  • Debris: the fall of downed targets has been recorded at 2 locations.
