Massive Russian strike on Kyiv
On the night of June 23, the Russians carried out a combined missile and drone attack on Ukraine. The main target was Kyiv, where residential buildings were damaged. At least nine people were killed, including one child. More than 30 others were injured, but a whole entrance was collapsed, so the number of casualties could be higher.
As reported by the Air Force, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 368 air attack means: 352 Shaheds and drone-imitators, 11 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, and five Iskander-K cruise missiles.

The Shahed drone attack on the capital began around midnight, and a few hours later, strikes with ballistic missiles started. The attack lasted until four in the morning. Many explosions and the work of air defense systems could be heard.

As a result of the massive shelling, there is destruction in residential areas, hospitals, and sports infrastructure. The Shevchenkivskyi, Podilskyi, Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, and Darnytskyi districts were affected by the shelling.

The most severe consequences, according to the State Emergency Service, are in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

There, an entire entrance of a multi-storey residential building was destroyed.

The number of casualties is constantly increasing. According to the latest data from rescuers, 9 people have died. 34 were injured, added to the Kyiv City Military Administration. Eight of them are in stable condition in city hospitals.

There were reports that the building of the Sports and Recreation Complex of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in Sviatoshynskyi district was completely burned down. However, later the vice-rector of KPI, Serhii Manzyuk, stated that this was a mistake.

"No building at KPI is burning! The windows [in the sports complex] were broken out, but what is shown on the networks is not ours."

The two-story building of the KPI sports complex houses, among other things, a swimming pool, gymnastics, aerobics halls, etc.

Overall, in the Sviatoshynskyi district, the consequences of the Russian strike are recorded at five locations. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported damage to a business center and an educational institution in this district.

In the Podilskyi district, a car caught fire as a result of the attack. There was also a fire in a non-residential building.

During the attack, one of the exits of the Sviatoshyn metro station and the adjacent area - a bus stop - were damaged. One of the metro exits was temporarily closed.

In Desnianskyi district, a crater appeared in the courtyard of a residential building.

In Holosiivskyi district, two cars and a business center were damaged.
