In Obolon, police officers drew their weapons during a scuffle that broke out whilst making an arrest (VIDEO)
During a joint patrol with servicemen from the Territorial Defence Forces and the Special Forces in the Obolon district, patrol officers noticed two men behaving suspiciously and trying to avoid speaking to them.
Law enforcement officers stopped them for a check. It was established that one of the men had breached military service legislation.
He then attempted to flee, whilst his companion actively resisted and tried to inflict bodily harm on the police officers and military personnel.
Both men were detained and handcuffed in accordance with Article 45 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On the National Police’.
During the arrest, a group of people gathered at the scene who, according to the police, behaved aggressively, striking and tugging at the uniforms of the military personnel and police officers.
In response, law enforcement officers readied their service firearms and warned those present of the possibility of their use in accordance with Article 46 of the Law of Ukraine “On the National Police”.
Following the warning, the crowd dispersed. No weapons were used.
Those detained were taken to the Obolon District Police Station, where administrative proceedings were initiated against them.
