In the Sumy region, the Russians attacked the 19th-century Kharitonenko Palace. Only ruins remain of it
This is reported by ‘Kordon.Media’.
The photo shows that only ruins remain of the palace. The building was attacked by Russian troops the day before.

It is known that the estate is located 20 km from the border with Russia in the village of Kyianytsia.
The estate was built by the entrepreneur, sugar magnate and philanthropist Ivan Kharitonenko in 1890. There was a park next to the building. After Kharitonenko’s death, the estate was inherited by his niece, Maria Lishchynska.
During the Soviet era, a tourist centre was set up on the estate’s grounds, so ‘not a trace remained of the original layout of the rooms’.
“After that, the palace was closed for many years, awaiting restoration, but this never happened,” the media reported.
Currently, the park and estate are under the jurisdiction of Sumy National Agrarian University.
