Law enforcement officers carried out inspections and investigative measures at U420 chain stores in Kyiv, Lviv and other cities. According to media reports, the searches are linked to suspicions of the sale of psychotropic substances.

In Kyiv’s Vydubychi district, police officers were spotted at one of the U420 chain’s shops. The officers were carrying out investigative procedures and searches, but declined to comment on the situation.

According to sources, the checks took place at more than one location. The National Police are also carrying out investigations at other branches of this chain.

In Lviv, according to media reports, searches were carried out at U420 shops suspected of selling drugs disguised as souvenirs. It is reported that these are outlets selling synthetic drugs. During the searches, law enforcement officers detained individuals involved in the shops’ activities.

In addition, reports have emerged of searches of this network in Kharkiv as well.

The U420 chain of shops is actively expanding in Ukraine. The brand’s first outlets opened in Kyiv in the spring of 2025. Since then, the number of outlets has grown to around 30 in the capital and major cities, including Kharkiv, Lviv, Dnipro and Odesa.

The outlets position themselves as shops selling products based on legalised cannabis. At the same time, they sell so-called souvenirs, including hashish and joints. The chain’s main target audience is said to be young people, including teenagers.
