The NEURC has updated the requirements for gas bills: what will change
This has been reported by the regulator’s press office.
The document aims to improve the transparency, clarity and informative content of bills. As the commission notes, the aim of the changes is to ‘increase consumer awareness and engagement, as well as the clarity and comprehensibility of payment information’.
In particular, the resolution provides for:
- a clear list of information that must be included in the bill in accordance with legislation and EU standards;
- the introduction of a standardised template and format for bills;
- the option to receive a gas supply bill together with a distribution bill on a single document;
- the inclusion in the bill of up-to-date information to be determined by the regulator;
- the consumer’s right to choose the bill format – paper or electronic.
The updated rules take into account the requirements of the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Natural Gas Market’ and implement the provisions of the European Directive on payment information standards in the gas sector.
The resolution will come into force on 1 October 2026. By that time, gas distribution network operators must adapt their payment documents to the new requirements.
