НКРЕКП почала імплементацію енергозакону для інтеграції з ЄС
This was reported by the Commission’s press office.
This concerns one of the key stages in the integration of the Ukrainian electricity market into the European market, specifically the introduction of a market coupling mechanism – the integration of the day-ahead and intraday markets with European trading zones.
To implement the law, the regulator is drawing up a comprehensive action plan, which involves updating the regulatory framework and drafting new legislation in line with European requirements. As part of this plan, a number of key documents will be revised:
- rules for the day-ahead and intraday markets;
- rules for the retail electricity market;
- codes for the transmission, distribution and commercial metering systems;
- licensing conditions for activities in the electricity sector;
- approaches to setting tariffs for electricity transmission and distribution.
Separately, provision is made for the development of new regulatory acts, in particular regarding the activities of the nominated market operator (NEMO), capacity provision mechanisms, flexibility services, and the implementation of pan-European rules and procedures.
“The implementation of these measures will bring the functioning of Ukraine’s electricity market closer to European Union standards, increase market transparency, the level of competition, and the stability of the power system,” the NEURC emphasised.
