Ukraine's Oschadbank has initiated new international arbitration proceedings against Russia. The case concerns assets seized in four regions of Ukraine.

This was reported by the bank’s press office.

The dispute concerns the protection of investments in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

“Due to the aggressor’s unlawful actions, the bank has lost significant assets and the ability to operate in these regions,” the bank said.

They also stated that in July 2025 they sent Russia an official notice regarding the dispute, but received no response. Therefore, the case will now be heard by an international court.

“We understand that Russia will not comply with court rulings voluntarily, so we are systematically working on their enforcement in various jurisdictions. At the same time, we are documenting all losses incurred since 2022 to ensure their subsequent recovery through new claims,” said Arsen Milyutin, Deputy Chairman of the Bank’s Management Board.

And Chairman of the Board Yuriy Katsion noted that, according to previous rulings, Oschadbank’s claims already exceed $1.3 billion, and this lawsuit is the next step in holding the aggressor state financially accountable.
