The state-owned Oschadbank announced the temporary suspension of its electronic services due to a suspected cyberattack.
According to the financial institution, on 9 March at around 10:00 a.m., the bank's security protocols were triggered due to a suspected DDoS attack.
"Today, 9 March, at around 10:00 a.m., Oschadbank's security protocols were triggered due to a suspected DDoS attack. As a result, the bank's servers were temporarily shut down," the bank said in a statement.
A technical inspection of all systems is currently underway.
The bank said that all electronic services should be fully restored within the next hour.
The financial institution also apologised to customers for the temporary inconvenience and noted that all actions are aimed at ensuring the security of banking services.
Earlier, on the night of 16 February, A-Bank suffered a large-scale hacker attack. At that time, funds were illegally debited from the accounts of some customers.
The bank reported that the attack was repelled and all lost funds were fully reimbursed to customers.
According to the financial institution, the incident was one of the largest in the bank's history and was associated with a new type of cyber threat that had not previously been recorded in the banking system.
