During a large-scale night attack, the F-16 pilot was killed.
Tonight, during the repulsion of a massive Russian missile-drone attack, a Ukrainian F-16 aircraft was damaged, resulting in the death of First Class Pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Ustymenko.

This is reported by the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

«On the night of June 29, 2025, Russian occupiers once again launched a massive missile and drone strike on Ukraine, using missiles of various types and strike UAVs. In total – over 500 air targets», - the message states.

It is noted that during the repulsion of the enemy's night attack, pilot Maxim Ustimenko tragically died.

«Unfortunately, we have another painful loss today. This night, while repelling a massive enemy air attack, F-16 pilot First Class Lieutenant Maxim Ustimenko, born in 1993, died», - the message states.

According to military sources, the Ukrainian pilot used the entire onboard weapon system, shooting down seven air targets. During the engagement of the last, his aircraft was damaged and began losing altitude.

«Maxim Ustimenko did everything possible, diverted the aircraft away from the populated area, but he did not have time to eject... He died as a Hero!», - the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated.
