Preparations for the heating season: Zelenskyy identifies ‘problem’ regions
Four regions of Ukraine are behind schedule in their preparations for the heating season. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is demanding that every official take personal responsibility.
Zelenskyy announced this on X following a meeting with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
368 facilities in operation
According to the President, 368 facilities are already operational in Ukraine as part of resilience plans – primarily focusing on upgrading the protection of energy and critical infrastructure.
Despite overall progress, some regions are falling behind the approved schedule.
There are issues with four regions:
- Lviv Oblast;
- Volyn Oblast;
- Odesa region;
- Kyiv.
What was decided
Zelenskyy and Svyrydenko agreed to resume the format of conference calls. The following will be invited to participate:
- regional and local government leaders;
- relevant government officials;
- law enforcement officers;
- military command responsible for securing facilities.
“The nationwide task is to fully implement the approved resilience plans within the specified timeframe. This is about protecting people, and responsibility for this will be personal in every region,” the President emphasised.
The issue of new equipment for energy facilities was discussed separately. According to Zelenskyy, relevant agreements with partners are to be reached as early as this week.
