The President of Turkey stated that Putin and Zelensky are "not yet ready for a meeting"
This is reported by Reuters.
Erdogan spoke with journalists aboard a plane returning from China, where he met with Putin, and then called Zelensky. According to him, the negotiations over the past few months between Russian and Ukrainian officials have shown that the path to peace remains open.
"Gradual escalation of negotiations is the way we are striving for. Hope for peace needs to be turned into concrete results aimed at resolving the issue. For this, we need to consider this matter at the leadership level," said Erdogan.
At the same time, according to him, "they are not yet ready for this."
