The Russian attack on Ukraine
On the afternoon of 13 May 2026, the Russian army launches a combined air strike, which may be of a protracted nature. Targets are likely to include critical infrastructure in major cities and defence industry facilities.

This has been reported by intelligence sources.

It is noted that in the first wave of the attack, the aggressor is deploying a significant number of attack drones to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defence system and strike civilian targets.

Russia plans to subsequently deploy a significant number of air- and sea-launched cruise missiles, as well as ballistic missiles.

“Moscow’s targets are critical infrastructure and life-support facilities in major cities, including energy facilities, defence industry enterprises and government buildings,” the GUR states.

Ukrainians have been urged to respond to air raid sirens and seek shelter.
