Russia attacked the Army Ground Forces training center
On the night of August 12, Russian troops attacked one of the training units of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a result of the missile strike, one serviceman was killed, and 11 others were wounded.

This was reported by the press service of the Ground Forces.

“Tonight, Russian troops carried out a missile strike on the territory of one of the training units of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”, – states the official report.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces noted that the alarm was announced in a timely manner, and personnel began moving to shelters immediately after the signal. However, during the movement, soldiers were hit by cluster munitions.

As a result of the shelling, one soldier was killed, and 11 others were injured of varying severity. Additionally, 12 servicemen sought medical help with complaints of barotrauma and symptoms of acute stress.

Rescue workers and medical personnel are working on site. All those affected are receiving necessary assistance.

“The command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine expresses sincere condolences to the relatives and loved ones of the fallen”, – said the press service.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces also emphasized that systematic work is ongoing to strengthen protective infrastructure: training centers, training grounds, and other facilities are being equipped with shelters, and safety measures during air threats are being intensified.
