Russia struck the Azerbaijani SOCAR oil depot in Ukraine
During the night of August 8, Russia carried out an attack with 5 Shahed-type drones on the oil depot of the Azerbaijani oil company SOCAR in the Odessa region, resulting in a fire, and also damaging a diesel pipeline.

EP reported this information from Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.

The fire was quickly localized. According to EP sources, as a result of the strike by the Russian Federation, four employees sustained serious injuries and received urgent medical assistance. The extent of the damages is currently being determined. Urgent restoration work is underway.

"Official investigation data has not yet been released, but the localization of hits by five guided drones clearly indicates that the oil depot was the main target of the attack," - law enforcement officials note.

This is already the second targeted attack on critical infrastructure objects in Ukraine related to Azerbaijan in recent times.

In particular, a recent strike was carried out on the Orlivka gas distribution station, located near the border with Romania. This station is an important element of the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline, through which Azerbaijani gas is planned to be pumped into Ukraine.

In connection with recent events and active mentions of Azerbaijani assets as "legitimate targets" in pro-Russian informational resources, there is a significant risk of further attacks on SOCAR objects in Ukraine, sources in law enforcement agencies assert.
