Russia is spreading disinformation due to Ukraine’s success in the Middle East – Sibiga
Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga made this statement on social media platform X.
Moscow is concerned that Kyiv has significantly strengthened its position in the Persian Gulf region. The reason for this was Iranian air aggression – it was in this context that partners recognised Ukraine’s unique expertise in air defence and security. According to Sybiga, Russia has decided to resort to propaganda to undermine this influence.
Moscow has launched several types of disinformation:
- allegedly, Ukrainian experts suffered losses or were injured;
- that Ukraine is failing to fulfil its commitments to its partners.
“We expect more of this nonsense in the coming weeks,” the minister stated.
Sybiga is confident that the propaganda will not succeed. The Gulf states are directly observing how Ukraine is contributing to the development of a modern and effective defence system. Furthermore, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit, according to the minister, has laid the foundations for long-term mutually beneficial cooperation between the parties.
“We view this Russian disinformation campaign as proof that Moscow recognises Ukraine’s success and its own failure,” Sibiga concluded.
