The Russians are planning to ‘nationalise’ 150 commercial buildings in the Luhansk region under the pretext that they are ‘ownerless’
This was reported by Oleksiy Kharchenko, head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration.
According to Kharchenko, the occupiers had previously stated that they would seize housing if the owner had not paid for utilities for a year. According to their logic, non-payment for more than 12 months automatically turns a flat or house into ‘ownerless property’.
As of the end of March, there were 50,000 flats in the Luhansk region with utility debts that could be ‘nationalised’. ‘In Luhansk, Alchevsk and Antratsyt alone, the invaders have already identified 13,000 such flats. They call them ownerless, but for some reason they sent the relevant warning to the owners’ addresses,” Kharchenko reported.
Now, according to him, the Russians have turned their attention to inspecting non-residential property.
“So far, they have found around 150 buildings there that appear to be ownerless. These may include not only long-abandoned properties, but also those where the owner has simply not been seen for three months, or where utility bills are unpaid,” noted Kharchenko.
As a reminder, it was previously reported that Russia wants to export titanium, lithium and graphite from the occupied south of Ukraine.
