The Russians have changed their tactics regarding the use of 'Shahed'-type kamikaze drones. This time, a large number of drones are moving along the border with Belarus.

This was stated by Serhiy "Flash" Beskrestnov, an adviser to the Ukrainian Minister of Defence.

“This time, the ‘Shaheds’ are moving along the Belarusian border at a distance of 5–10 km, literally one after another, and in large numbers. The enemy is counting on overloading our air defence to allow as many targets as possible to penetrate deep into the country towards the West,” he said.

"Flash" emphasised that Ukrainian defenders are on the job. He also added that the Russians are preparing for such attacks, conducting electronic warfare reconnaissance and studying Ukraine’s air defence positions.

"And our task is to anticipate the enemy’s moves," the adviser to the Minister of Defence emphasised.

As a reminder, on the afternoon of 13 May 2026, the Russian army is carrying out a combined air attack, which may be of a prolonged nature. Targets may include critical infrastructure in major cities and defence industry enterprises.
