Russian troops have attacked several regions of Ukraine; there are casualties

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have shelled the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Sumy regions. The attacks have resulted in the deaths of civilians, with dozens of people injured.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russian troops have attacked the Pavlohrad, Nikopol and Synelnykivskyi districts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast nearly 30 times. Drones, artillery and aerial bombs were used in the attacks.

Fires broke out in Pavlohrad. More than ten private homes and cars were damaged. Three people were injured. A 55-year-old man and woman were hospitalised with moderate injuries. A 43-year-old man is receiving outpatient treatment.

In the Synelnykivskyi district, Russian troops attacked the Pokrovska and Dubovykivska communities. Several private homes and a farm building were set alight as a result of the strikes.

In the Nikopol district, the communities of Nikopol, Marganetsk, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovsk were hit. Infrastructure and disused buildings were damaged.

Donetsk region

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian army killed four residents of the Donetsk region.

According to Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, two people were killed in Dobropillia, and one each in Kramatorsk and Mayaky.

Three more residents of the region were wounded.

Zaporizhzhia region

On 7 May, Russian forces carried out 917 strikes on 48 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region.

As a result of the attacks, one person was killed and 12 others were injured.

Kherson region

In the Kherson region, 22 people were injured as a result of Russian attacks over the past 24 hours.

Two high-rise buildings, 13 private houses, mobile phone masts, a farm building, a pharmacy, a warehouse and private cars were damaged.

Sumy region

In the Sumy region, one person was killed and three others were injured as a result of Russian strikes.

In the Krasnopil community, a 52-year-old local woman was killed during the shelling.

In the Velykopysarivska community, a 75-year-old woman was injured by a drone strike.

In the Bilopil community, two men aged 41 and 35 were injured in a drone attack.

A 16-year-old girl, who was injured on 5 May as a result of a drone strike in the Sumy community, also sought medical attention.

According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, from the morning of 7 May to the morning of 8 May, Russian forces carried out nearly 50 attacks on 31 settlements across 15 communities in the region. The highest number of strikes was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.
