Intelligence revealed what the new Russian drone is made of
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has disclosed the composition of a new Russian drone, which is used as a decoy target and reconnaissance device for detecting Ukrainian air defense positions.
This was reported by the GUR on the official website.
According to intelligence sources, the drone has a delta-wing fuselage, similar to the Shahed-136 ("Gheran-2"), but smaller in size. The feature of the device is that all its components are of Chinese origin. The main part consists of electronics from the Chinese company CUAV Technology, including autopilot, navigation modules, antennas, speed sensors, and a Pitot tube.
Despite CUAV's official statement in October 2022 about ceasing supplies to Ukraine and Russia, in 2023, Russia introduced its "own" VTOL UAV, which turned out to be an exact copy of a Chinese product available on Aliexpress.
The design also uses a DLE brand engine and ignition module, KST servos, Razer FPV camera, data transmission modules Mayatech RFD900X and ReadyToSky, Hobbywing Technology power regulator, and HRB Power battery. Additionally, the drone is equipped with a Chinese copy of the Australian RFD900X transmitter, capable of operating at a distance of up to 40 km.
The GUR adds that Russia has already used similar components in other drones: "Gerbera," "Parody," Shahed-136, and V2U.
