Russia has attacked regions of Ukraine with drones and artillery; there is one fatality and several casualties
Kharkiv region
On the night of 1 June, Russian forces launched strikes on Kharkiv and its suburbs. According to local authorities, several districts of the city were targeted.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported at least 10 strikes in the outskirts of the Slobids’kyi district, bordering the ring road. There were also reports of strikes in the Osnov’yanskyi district.
Later, Terekhov clarified that the strike had hit a garage cooperative next to high-rise buildings. As a result of the attack, garages and cars were on fire.
According to the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, one of the strikes in a residential area of the Osnovyanskyi district destroyed two garages, where a fire broke out. High-rise residential buildings, cars and garage spaces were also damaged.
Oleg Synyegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, reported that a 34-year-old woman was injured in the Osnovyanskyi district. It later emerged that two people had been injured. Paramedics provided them with the necessary assistance.
The strike damaged a five-storey residential building and nearby high-rise blocks. Cars and five garages were also damaged, with a further two garages completely destroyed.
Later, the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv was struck. According to Ihor Terekhov, an enemy ‘Molniya’ drone damaged three private houses. At the time of the report, there were no casualties.
Odesa region
In Odesa, the first and second floors of a nine-storey building were partially destroyed after being hit by a Russian drone. The building’s façade and balconies were also damaged.
Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported that the fire that broke out following the strike had been brought under control. In addition, a fire broke out in a two-storey non-residential building.
Initially, it was reported that one person had been injured and treated at the scene. Later, Serhiy Lysak reported that four people had been injured as a result of the night-time attack on Odesa, and that two single-storey houses had caught fire.
As of 07:00, according to the Odesa City Military Administration, five people were injured as a result of two night-time attacks on the city. Two were hospitalised, two were treated at the scene, and one person refused hospitalisation.
In the city, apartment blocks in various districts, an administrative building and infrastructure have been damaged. According to preliminary data, 82 windows were shattered, 72 of which have already been repaired. Operational headquarters are working on the ground.
Oleg Kipper, Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, reported that six people were injured as a result of a massive drone attack on the Odesa region, two of whom were hospitalised.
According to him, residential and industrial infrastructure came under attack. In Odesa, a UAV strike was recorded on the ground floor of a high-rise building. Flats, the façade and balconies from the first to the fourth floor were partially destroyed. Windows were damaged, as were cars parked nearby. Two residents were injured.
Three more people were injured when a drone struck residential buildings, causing damage to flats and a subsequent fire. Strikes on warehouse premises, a hangar containing wheat and a disused administrative building were also recorded. One person was injured in this incident.
Zaporizhzhia
In Zaporizhzhia, explosions were heard on the morning of 1 June during an attack by Russian drones. An air raid alert was declared in the city.
The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, urged residents to stay in safe places. Prior to this, the Air Force had warned of strike drones moving towards Zaporizhzhia.
Dnipropetrovsk
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, as of the morning of 1 June, four people had been injured as a result of Russian strikes.
Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, reported that Russian forces had attacked three districts of the region with drones nearly 30 times and shelled them with artillery.
In the Nikopol district, the communities of Nikopol, Pokrovska and Chervonohryhorivska were targeted. Infrastructure, a business, a petrol station, private homes and cars were damaged.
Among the injured is a 54-year-old woman, who was hospitalised in a serious condition. A 52-year-old man is also in hospital in a moderate condition. Two other women, aged 56 and 67, will receive outpatient treatment.
In Dnipro, fires broke out in a holiday home and a garage. In the Synelnykivskyi district, Russian forces struck the Vasylkivska community, where a private home was damaged.
Donetsk region
In the Donetsk region, Russian troops killed one resident of Druzhkivka on 31 May.
The head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Vadym Filashkin, reported that eight more people in the region were wounded over the past 24 hours.
Kherson region
In the Kherson region, six people were wounded over the past 24 hours as a result of Russian aggression.
According to the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, seven high-rise buildings, 17 private houses, a gas pipeline, a private garage and cars were damaged.
Chernihiv Region
In the Chernihiv region, eight people, including three children, were injured as a result of an attack by Russian drones.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, a fire broke out in a community centre in the village of Snovske, Koryukivka district, after a UAV struck the building.
In the village of Ripky, a private household was damaged in the attack. Rescue workers extinguished fires at industrial sites, in the private sector, at infrastructure facilities and in vehicles.
