Russia has attacked seven regions of Ukraine over the past 24 hours; there have been fatalities, dozens of people have been injured and there has been widespread destruction
Zaporizhzhia Region
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have carried out 934 strikes on 52 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, eight people were injured in Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district. There were also 101 reports of damage to infrastructure, residential buildings and vehicles.
Kherson Region
According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, three people were killed and a further 19 were injured as a result of Russian attacks over the past 24 hours. A block of flats, four private homes, a mobile phone mast, a minibus, an ambulance and a private vehicle were damaged.
Sixteen people were evacuated from the region’s de-occupied communities.
Separately, the State Emergency Service reported that a Russian drone attacked a car in Kherson. Two people were killed in the strike, and the car caught fire. Despite the threat of further attacks, emergency services managed to extinguish the fire.
Dnipropetrovsk region
Since the evening, Russian troops have attacked three districts of the region nearly 20 times using drones, aerial bombs and artillery.
In the Nikopol district, the communities of Nikopol, Marganetsk and Chervonohryhorivka came under attack. An administrative building, blocks of flats and private houses, a school and solar panels were damaged. A 52-year-old man was injured and will receive outpatient treatment.
In the Mykolaiv community of the Synelnykivskyi district, private homes, outbuildings and cars were damaged. In the Solonyanska community of the Dniprovskyi district, a petrol station was damaged.
Sumy Region
In the Bilopil community, Russian drones struck a shopping centre. The roof and building structures caught fire. Emergency services extinguished the fire and inspected the site of the strike. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
Kharkiv Region
Over the past 24 hours, Kharkiv and nine other settlements in the region came under Russian attack.
According to Oleg Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, three people were killed and a further 50 were injured.
In Kharkiv, a man and a woman, both aged around 60, were killed. Forty-four people were injured, including a 12-year-old girl and boys aged 17, 16 and 3.
The transit evacuation centre in Lozova took in 193 people over the past 24 hours. In total, 44,789 evacuees have been registered since it began operating.
Mykolaiv Oblast
Over the past 24 hours and on the morning of 9 July, Russian forces attacked the region using Shahed and Gerber-type strike drones.
In Ochakiv, the roof of a warehouse and a sanatorium building were damaged, and a fire broke out. In the Horokhiv community, an educational building was damaged.
An FPV drone also attacked the Halytsynivska community. A holiday home was damaged in the village of Halytsynove. No one was injured.
