Syrskyi dismissed two corps commanders
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has dismissed the commanders of two corps – the head of the 17th Corps, Volodymyr Silenko, and the 20th Corps, Maksym Kitugin.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed UNIAN the removal from their positions of the commanders of the 17th and 20th Army Corps.
They noted that such personnel decisions by the Commander-in-Chief are related to the commanders' shortcomings in troop management, which led to the loss of personnel and territories in the areas of responsibility in the Zaporizhzhia and Novopavlivka directions.
According to the General Staff, Silenko and Kitugin will continue to serve in other positions.
Regarding when new commanders of the 17th and 20th Army Corps will be appointed, the General Staff said that there is currently no such information.
