An investigating judge at the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has ordered a special pre-trial investigation into a former Member of Parliament from the Party of Regions. He is suspected of embezzling 18 hectares of land near the ‘Stolychny’ market, with a total value of over 160 million hryvnias.

This has been reported by the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

The SAPO has not named the individual involved, but the circumstances of the case point to former regional official Yuriy Ivanyushchenko.

The investigation established that in 2021, the former MP and a property developer (presumably Vladislava Molchanova, co-founder of Stolitsa Group – Mind) illegally, through individuals under their control at the State Geocadastre, first leased the land plots, then sold them to companies linked to the property developer, and later agreed to their joint use.

The scheme was exposed in early September 2025. A few days later, Molchanova was ordered to post bail of 100 million hryvnias. In October, the High Anti-Corruption Court arrested Ivanyushchenko in absentia: he had fled Ukraine back in December 2014.

As a reminder, the court had previously authorised a special investigation into the embezzlement of funds from Konstantin Zhevago’s ‘Finance and Credit’ bank.
