Court places NABU detective Gusarov under round-the-clock house arrest
The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv changed the preventive measure for National Anti-Corruption Bureau detective Viktor Gusarov. Instead of detention without bail, the court imposed round-the-clock house arrest. This was reported in a comment to Ukrinform by Shevchenkivskyi District Court spokesperson Judge Olena Chaika.
The prosecutor filed a corresponding motion, which the investigating judge granted. Gusarov must perform the duties provided for in the Criminal Procedure Code, including appearing when summoned and not leaving his place of residence.
In July, the Security Service of Ukraine announced the arrest of an employee of the NABU central office who worked in the closed D2 unit. According to the investigation, he passed information to the Russian FSB about Ukrainian security forces and other citizens who were targeted for terrorist attacks and information operations. After his exposure, the court took Gusarov into custody.
The SBU claims that he was part of an enemy agent network. In addition to the detained detective, the network included three other individuals who had been exposed by the special services earlier.
