Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service warns of possible Russian provocation with casualties to disrupt talks

Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service said that the Kremlin is preparing new fake pretexts and may launch an armed provocation with human casualties on the eve of or during Julian Christmas.

Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service has reported that the Kremlin's special operation aimed at disrupting the US-mediated peace talks is continuing. The agency said that after the information wave surrounding the alleged attack on Vladimir Putin's residence, the Russian side is spreading new, pre-prepared falsifications to lead audiences in Russia and abroad to further escalation

According to the SZRU, there is a high probability of transition from manipulative information influences to an armed provocation with mass casualties. The likely time of implementation is on the eve of or during the celebration of Christmas according to the Julian calendar. A religious building or other object with a high symbolic value both in Russia and in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine may be chosen as a target

The intelligence service noted that to fabricate evidence of Ukraine's involvement, Russia could use the wreckage of Western-made attack drones, which, according to the SZRU, are planned to be delivered from the frontline. The agency stressed that the use of false flag terror is in line with the methods of work of Russian special services and called on the media to be critical of the materials disseminated by the Kremlin and to carefully verify the information
