The General Staff reported 268 clashes over the past 24 hours and identified the most active sectors of the front
Day 1,597 of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 268 combat engagements took place on the front line over the past 24 hours.
Russian troops carried out two missile strikes using six missiles and 87 air strikes, during which they dropped 295 guided bombs. In addition, the enemy deployed 9,705 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,054 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, including 49 using multiple launch rocket systems.
Air strikes targeted areas around the settlements of Luzhky and Volfyne in the Sumy region.
Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Defence Forces’ air force, missile forces and artillery struck nine areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, two artillery systems and two drone control centres.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian forces repelled two assaults. The enemy also carried out one air strike using two guided bombs and conducted 44 shelling attacks.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the Defence Forces repelled two attacks in the Hoptivka area. In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy attacked twice in the directions of Novoplatonivka and Kivsharivka.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 attacks in the areas of Stavky, Drobysheve and Lyman, as well as in the directions of Druzhlyubivka, Derylove, Shyikivka, Novoselivka and Yampil.
In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy carried out 28 assaults in the areas of Kryva Luka, Zakytne and Riznykivka, as well as in the direction of Rai Oleksandrivka. In the Kramatorsk sector, three attacks were recorded in the directions of Nykyforivka, Tykhonivka and Yurivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, 29 attacks took place. Russian troops stormed the positions of Ukrainian units in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka and Ivanopillia, as well as in the directions of Stepanivka and Oleksandro Shultyn.
The enemy was most active in the Pokrovsk sector, where Ukrainian forces repelled 38 attacks. Fighting continued in the areas of Toretsk, Pokrovsk, Rodynske and Bilytske, as well as in the directions of Pavlivka, Vilne, Shevchenko, Hryshyn, Molodetsk, Novopidhorodne, Svitly, Hulyve, Matyashiv, Dorozhne, Nikanorivka, Novyi Donbas, Kotlyne and Udachne.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy carried out three attacks in the directions of Novoheorhiivka and Voskresenka. In the Huliaipole sector, 30 attacks were recorded in the areas of Huliaipole, Novoselivka and Verkhnia Tersa, as well as in the directions of Hirky, Rybne, Dobropillia, Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, Kosivtseve and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces repelled two attempts by the enemy to advance towards Stepove and Shcherbakiv. No assault operations were recorded in the Dnipro sector. In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups were detected.
According to the General Staff, the Russian army’s losses over the past day amounted to 1,310 personnel. Seven tanks, three armoured fighting vehicles, 59 artillery systems, four multiple launch rocket systems, one air defence system, one aircraft, four ground-based robotic systems, 1,843 drones, 363 vehicles and four pieces of specialised equipment.
