Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made another statement whilst inspecting damaged architectural monuments in Kyiv on 15 June. The President stated that Putin had wished Trump a happy birthday and then cynically struck a blow against Ukraine.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Today, the head of state visited the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which was damaged during a night-time attack by Russian troops. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko was with him at the site.

According to Zelenskyy, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin acted cynically, combining birthday greetings to Trump with a massive strike on Ukraine.

“So he (Putin), as always, cynically congratulated the US president first and then, just as cynically, launched a massive strike on Ukraine; I don’t think this was a coincidence,” said Zelenskyy.

The President added that the Russians had been preparing for this attack for several days, stockpiling missiles.

“They weren’t just stockpiling missiles; they were waiting to avoid doing so until after Trump’s birthday greetings,” the head of state stated.

As is known, yesterday, 14 June, US President Donald Trump celebrated his 80th birthday. He is now officially the oldest serving president in the history of the United States.
