The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a strike using Storm Shadow missiles against an occupiers’ command post in the Luhansk region
On Monday, 25 May, the Ukrainian Air Force deployed Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles to strike a military facility belonging to the Russian occupying forces in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk Oblast.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian command, the strike targeted a key command post and communications hub of the Russian forces.
The General Staff noted that this strike demonstrates “strategic foresight, unity of planning and purposeful action”, and also confirms that no position of Russian troops on Ukrainian territory is safe.
They also emphasised that such strikes are intended to reduce the controllability of Russian forces in the temporarily occupied territories and to complicate the coordination of their actions.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Defence Forces carried out strikes on a number of targets on Russian territory. In particular, a few days ago, following an attack by Ukrainian drones, an oil refinery in Syzran, Russia, ceased operations.
The Ukrainian military also struck an oil refinery in Yaroslavl, which is one of the largest in Russia and is located approximately 700 kilometres from the Ukrainian border.
