Trump has named his 'dream team' for the 2028 presidential election
This is according to The Hill.
During a speech at an event marking National Police Week, Trump spoke highly of Vance and Rubio.
He called the pair a “dream team” and described the choice of J.D. Vance as “perfect”.
"Who likes JD Vance? Who likes Marco Rubio? Great. Sounds like a good choice," the US president remarked.
Trump’s endorsement
At the same time, he stressed that his statement did not mean the automatic nomination of both politicians in 2028. According to political strategists, the US president continues to gauge the reaction of the public and donors to potential candidates.
It is noted that this approach – constantly gauging people’s attitudes towards his entourage – is characteristic of Trump’s political style.
Marco Rubio had already taken part in the presidential race in 2016, but lost the primaries to Donald Trump. He subsequently served in the Senate until joining Trump’s second administration. In December, he stated that he would be “one of the first to support” Vance if he decided to run for president.
JD Vance also served as a senator before becoming vice-president. So far, neither politician has officially announced the launch of their own campaign for 2028.
As a reminder, it was previously reported that the US is considering options for a military scenario regarding Cuba.
