In Dnipro, law enforcement officers have arrested an officer from the mobilisation department of one of the district territorial centres for recruitment and social support. He was caught accepting a bribe.

According to the investigation, the suspect demanded US$1,500 to influence the decision to remove a citizen from military registration and to enter the relevant information into the Unified State Register of Conscripts.

The arrest took place whilst the suspect was receiving the funds, in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Investigators from the National Police Department in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, together with officers from the Security Service of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, with the support of a special unit, carried out searches at the suspect’s place of work, in his car and at his home.

During the investigative actions, a mobile phone, official documentation—including materials regarding the removal of a person from military registration, draft notes, documents bearing seals and stamps, and 15 sheets of signature samples—as well as a Skoda Rapid car were seized.

The suspect has been notified of the charges against him under Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A motion has been filed with the court to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and procedural guidance from the Dnipro Specialised Prosecutor’s Office for the Eastern Region.
