A taxi driver who broke a passenger's jaw during a ride will stand trial in Kyiv
A taxi driver suspected of causing moderate bodily harm to a passenger will appear in court in the capital. This was reported by the Kyiv Police Communications Department.
According to the investigation, the incident occurred during a trip when a 27-year-old Kyiv woman suddenly felt ill — she felt nauseous. The driver reacted aggressively: he stopped the car, forcibly removed the passenger, and then punched her twice in the face.
Doctors diagnosed the victim with bruises and a broken jaw. Investigators identified the attacker as a 24-year-old Kyiv resident who worked as a taxi driver.
Investigators from the Dnipro Police Department informed the man that he was suspected of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 122 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — intentional bodily harm of moderate severity. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the indictment has already been sent to court.
If proven guilty, the taxi driver faces up to three years in prison.
