The Kyiv Police and the SBU detained a 24-year-old resident of the capital who is suspected of a terrorist attack against a National Guard serviceman. She blew up a car on the instructions of Russian special services, but did not receive the promised reward of $1,500.

In Kyiv law enforcement officers together with the Security Service of Ukraine detained a 24-year-old woman suspected of blowing up an off-road vehicle of a military National Guard of Ukraine in Obolon district of the capital. This was reported by the police on 5 January

The explosion occurred around 10:30 a.m. near a residential building on Heroiv Dnipra Street. According to the investigation, the woman, on the instructions of a Russian special services supervisor, made an improvised explosive device on her own and placed it under a Land Rover car. Near the explosion site, law enforcement officers found a mobile phone that was used to broadcast the crime online to the customer

As a result of the explosion, the serviceman and his acquaintance sustained injuries, including shrapnel wounds and contusions. The investigation established that the suspect agreed to the attack after being offered a part-time job on social media. She was promised $1,500 for completing the task, but did not receive the money. Her involvement in the arson attack on a military vehicle in December 2025 is also being checked

The woman was detained under Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and notified of suspicion of committing a terrorist act. The article provides for up to 10 years in prison with the possibility of confiscation of property
