The police warned about a new danger
The Russian Federation uses attack drones for remote mining of Ukrainian territories with anti-tank mines PTM-3. The police warn citizens about the extreme danger.

This is reported by the press service of the National Police.

The National Police of Ukraine reports a new explosive threat from Russian occupiers. On the territory of Sumy region, the Ukrainian Defense Forces discovered a downed enemy attack drone, under the wings of which were attached cassette elements with anti-tank mines PTM-3.

According to law enforcement officials, Russia is conducting remote mining of the area — including roads, agricultural lands, field paths, and other open areas actively used by civilians and machinery. The PTM-3 mine is particularly dangerous because it is compact, has a plastic body, and a magnetic detonator. It reacts to the approach of equipment, regardless of its type, and can detonate even when passing nearby. Combined with the possibility of remote dispersal via drones, this weapon creates an additional threat in peaceful territories that were previously considered relatively safe.

The Ukrainian police urge maximum caution, especially for those working in the fields, moving along field roads, or operating equipment in high-risk areas. Due to grass cover and poor visibility, mines may remain unnoticed until they explode.

In case of discovering suspicious objects, especially those resembling anti-tank mines, it is necessary to:

  • Immediately stop the vehicle.
  • Move to a safe distance.
  • Report to the police at 102.

It is also emphasized that enemy drones that did not explode after falling pose a danger. They may contain additional explosive traps or sensors that react to interference or approach.
