Law enforcement officers have seized over 1,400 kilograms of cocaine at the port of Rotterdam. According to the public prosecutor’s office, most of the drugs were concealed amongst household goods arriving from Curaçao, reports NOS.

During an inspection of three containers at the port, signs of irregularities were detected. In the first container, bags containing 32 kilograms of cocaine were found.

In the second container, law enforcement officers discovered 177 kilograms of drugs, which were hidden in six suitcases.

The largest consignment was found in the third container. It contained household goods, amongst which customs officers discovered a further 35 bags containing 1,199 packets of cocaine.

The prosecutor’s office noted that the recipients of the containers were not involved in the smuggling. The seized drugs have been destroyed.
