Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Centre for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defence Council, has stated that Russia is preparing provocations under false pretences against NATO countries. According to him, the aim of such actions is to undermine the allies’ trust in Ukraine.

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Centre for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defence Council, has reported that Russia is preparing provocations under false colours against NATO countries.

According to him, Russia may use drones disguised as Ukrainian ones to carry out attacks on the Baltic states, as well as to stage provocations against Poland. As Kovalenko noted, the aim of such actions is to undermine the allies’ trust in Ukraine.

“Russia is preparing provocations under false colours against NATO countries; in particular, it may use drones disguised as Ukrainian ones to carry out attacks on the Baltic states as well as provocations against Poland, in order to undermine trust in Ukraine,” he said.

Kovalenko also stated that the Russian Federation’s Main Intelligence Directorate is responsible for preparing these operations. According to him, the Russian Federation’s Foreign Intelligence Service may also be involved in carrying them out.
